Michele Spremich
OWNER
I have a passion for connecting people to nature, teaching people how to grow their own food, and for making the learning fun! As a lifetime gardener, amateur herbalist, home cook and nature enthusiast, it brings me joy to help people co-create their own garden spaces. I spent years honing my skills on an organic farm growing heirloom fruits and veggies for a high-end Bay Area catering company, and also have experience teaching gardening in Novato schools. I have an Ecological Landscape Certification from The Permaculture Skills Center in Sebastapol, CA, and a degree in Illustration and Design from Syracuse University.

I aim to create joyful spaces that bring people and nature together in an earth-based lifestyle that promotes wellness of body, bounty of food, and community resilience.
Lemons & Lavender Edible Gardens provides consultation, design, and installation of suburban and urban landscapes that provide food, beauty, medicinal plants and outdoor recreational space. I also offer one-on-one coaching sessions to give you the skills to care for your land and grow your own connection to nature and to your food source.

My work is based on the permaculture design system, which creates regenerative places that nurture both people and Earth.

Landscape Design
I design with you. This means that I will help you to choose materials, plants, and plans that reflect your taste. No two projects I’ve designed look alike, and that’s because I work with you to draw out your preferences: formal or informal, joyously colorful or subtly modern. Let’s make it feel like YOUR garden!
No matter what your style, all designs incorporate water-saving techniques, pollinator-friendly plants, and low-maintenance landscaping.
Landscape Installation
Some of my clients prefer to install their gardens themselves, and that’s great! I love when people are willing to learn and to get their hands dirty.
However, if you have a large job or would rather hire a professional, I have a network of talented gardeners and licensed contractors to call on. I can communicate your vision, supply the plants, and we will build it all together.
I partner with qualified professionals to install hardscapes, decks, gardens, laundry-to-landscape greywater systems, and more.
Individual Coaching
Gardens grow and change through the seasons, just like people. If you would like to learn how to tend your land through planting, pruning, creating a feeding schedule for your plants, planning and planting for year-round food gardens, and living seasonally with the land outside of your door I can help.
